About me

Why a project leader offers survival training

I come from the world of complex IT and transformation projects – and in the forest I learned what truly matters in critical phases: presence, clarity, team trust and the ability to make good decisions even under pressure.

As a project and programme leader, I have been guiding teams through demanding change for more than 20 years – in large corporations, public institutions and mid-sized companies. At the same time, I have gradually professionalised my passion for nature, bushcraft and survival.

At some point it became clear: the principles that determine safety, orientation and resilience outdoors are the same ones that make projects successful indoors.

  • Practice instead of slides In the forest, it becomes visible immediately whether leadership, communication and collaboration work – or do not. I bring this honest feedback back into business.
  • Head, heart & compass I combine structured project methods with a very human leadership style and the survival mindset: taking responsibility, staying calm, remaining able to act.
  • Learning that stays with you Anyone who has built a fire in the forest at night or found a bivouac spot as a team understands leadership, trust and communication on a new level.
Survival Training

Survival training: three levels for greater clarity & resilience

The training takes you step by step from solid basics to more complex scenarios – always with clear links to leadership, everyday life and personal resilience.

The Departure

1 day · Beginners, teams, curious minds

Ideal for getting your first taste of survival: shelter, fire, water and orientation – combined with reflections on focus, prioritisation and clarity within a team. Perfect for anyone who wants to take a first step beyond their comfort zone.

Perseverance

2 days (including bivouac) · Advanced participants, project & team leaders

Two intensive days outdoors: resources becoming scarce, night experiences and changing conditions. This is about self-efficacy, improvisation and leading in situations where the plan no longer works 1:1.

Clear Compass

2.5 days with reflection modules · Leaders & decision-makers

Survival elements combined with consciously guided reflection phases: What does responsibility under pressure mean? Which values support decisions? And how do you remain able to act as a leader when uncertainty rises?

Team Events

Team events: experience together what makes collaboration strong

Instead of a standard outdoor programme, the focus here is on real collaboration: clear communication, mutual trust and shared success experiences that carry into everyday work.

Whether family, group of friends, club or company event – the events are tailored to the objective, the framework conditions and the team constellation. From focused half-days to intensive outdoor experiences, a great deal is possible.

The emphasis is not on peak performance, but on connection: together instead of side by side, listening instead of only sending, responsibility instead of “the others are to blame”.

  • Outdoor team days Shared challenges in the forest, by the water or in the mountains – with a clear review of what can be translated concretely into your everyday work.
  • Leadership retreats Small, focused groups with plenty of time for reflection, honest feedback and the question: How do we want to move forward together in the future?
  • Tailor-made formats From kick-off events to “project reset” days: together we create an experience that fits your situation, culture and dynamics exactly.
About PMDeers

We believe that nature is our best teacher.

PMDeers was born from the conviction that the lessons of survival outdoors help strengthen people and teams indoors – in everyday life, in projects and in phases of change.

PMDeers combines the principles of everyday life with the lessons of survival to help people and teams develop their full potential. Anyone who learns to cope in the wilderness learns to set priorities, stay united and remain adaptable.

Experiences in nature carry back into everyday working life: more calmness in stressful situations, clearer decisions and a stronger awareness of what truly matters.

“It shows us what truly matters: setting priorities, staying together, remaining adaptable.”

Anyone who can cope in the wilderness also gains calmness and strength in everyday life. That is exactly where our formats begin – whether survival training or a team event.

Our mission: PMDeers creates experiences that take people out of their comfort zone, strengthen resilience and bring teams closer together – outdoors in nature, real and unfiltered.

Additional perspective

Additional perspectives

Sometimes development does not end at the campfire – that is where it really begins.

Not every development process ends at the campfire. Some processes require additional support in everyday life.

If further individual deepening appears useful, I refer to Ars Mentis – Coaching & Personal Development. Coaching can help transfer experiences from survival training into concrete changes in a professional or personal context.
